I am sure that you have heard about the assault and robbery to 101-year-old Ernest Côté inside his apartment building in New Edinburgh on Thursday morning. Côté was alone in his second-floor apartment at 31 Durham Pvt. Thursday morning when, at 7:30 a.m., a man claiming to be a City of Ottawa employee asked to be buzzed into the building

 

The Condominium in this report had the same security as the Commodore's Quay and we wish to remind residents to not let people into our buildings even if they appear to be on official business.

 

It is imperative that you keep your door locked at all times and that you do not let anyone into the building unless you recognize them.

 

Delivery service people should be met in the lobby. If they must come to your unit please, when they leave, accompany them out of the building. If this is not possible, they should be asked to buzz you when they exit the front door.
